ISLE OF CARDS IS CLOSING UP SHOP

We at Cardhoarder LLC are closing Isle of Cards, our paper Magic retailing business. Isle of Cards is no longer accepting new orders or buylists, and we will proceed to wind down the business in an orderly fashion at this time. We greatly appreciate the customers who have put their trust in us by using our services, and we would like to explain our reasons for this decision as well as the details of the shutdown process. Most importantly, we want to assure our customers that we will do right by them in this process, and ensure they receive any pending orders, pending buylist payouts, and appropriate value for their outstanding store credit -- as is explained in more detail to follow.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The decision to close Isle of Cards is not due to financial problems, and all obligations of Isle of Cards - including store credit, outstanding buylists, and orders en route - will be honored. Our primary business, Cardhoarder, will continue to run normally, as will our endeavors to improve the community and our commitment to serve our customers to the fullest and best extent possible. The only impact on our Cardhoarder business is that we will no longer offer Isle of Cards Store Credit as a payout option when selling Collections or Event Tickets.
HOW THE DECISION WAS REACHED
Isle of Cards has been a labor of love, and this was not an easy decision to make. We are proud of the modest success we achieved with Isle of Cards as a new brand in the paper world operating entirely independent of the TCGPlayer/Crystal Commerce setup most sites rely on. There are, however, significant challenges with logistics and growth that are very time consuming to resolve and we face a steep learning curve since our expertise is more related to the Magic Online market than the paper Magic arena. Taking on these challenges requires a great deal of focus and time. Meanwhile, we have observed tremendous growth with our Magic Online-related business, Cardhoarder, and it has become hard to justify spending time and effort on Isle at the expense of our ongoing goal to improve Cardhoarder.
ISLE OF CARDS STORE CREDIT
We believe that all outstanding credit originated from a 20% bonus payout from either a completed buylist, or a transaction from MTGO which included a 10 or 20% bonus in the payout. Anyone with outstanding Store Credit on Isle of Cards will be offered one of two options to clear their account.
- Option 1: Transfer 100% of their existing Isle of Cards Store Credit to Cardhoarder. Your USD Isle of Cards Store Credit would be converted to Cardhoarder Bot Credit at our standard conversion rate plus an additional 5% bonus. For example, $1 in Isle Store Credit will be equal to 1.117 bot credit. ($1 * 1.05 (5% bonus) / 0.94 (conversion to Event Tickets)).
- Option 2: Receive the entire amount of store credit as cash using any of our normal payout methods (e.g., Paypal - fees will apply, ACH/Direct Deposit - US only, Company Check, or Wire Transfer - $25 fee applies). No deduction will be made for the bonuses applied - you will receive full credit for all existing Store Credit. $1 in Isle Store Credit will be equal to 1 USD.
Everyone with Store Credit outstanding will be contacted via email shortly to ascertain what payout option they would like to receive. Please reply to that email with your selection and we will take care of it as soon as we are able. If you do not receive an email and believe you have outstanding store credit, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All pending buylists that have been approved for shipment but not yet graded will be processed as they normally would, in a timeframe typical for our normal processing (usually day of receipt, sometimes next day). It is noted that GP Vegas may cause some delays in processing your payment, but we will do our best to continue to process things normally. Any outstanding Buylist Order with Store Credit as the payout option will receive the 20% bonus, with the Store Credit then paid out per the above (for obvious reasons, we will not allow any anyone to switch to Store Credit payout to receive this 20% windfall).
Per our Buylist Terms, all outstanding Buylists that have not been received within 30 days of their creation date will be canceled. We would of course appreciate the expedited shipment of any outstanding Buylists before that time so we can finalize our inventory liquidation process.
All paid for orders have been shipped, and your tracking information will remain available during our wind-down process. Our closure should not affect your delivery in any way, and should you encounter any issues, we will still be available via email@example.com to assist with any issues that arise. We remain committed to ensuring your satisfaction despite our plans to close, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us should you have any problems or concerns. Our options to remediate your issue may be more limited (e.g., a condition issue), but we will do our very best to ensure you are a satisfied customer.
Although we’ve decided to close our operation, the opportunity to pursue this project was a life-long dream reached. It didn’t end where we had hoped when we started, but the progress we did make could not have been had but for the hard work of our employees and the patronage of this great community. We appreciate every customer out there that gave a new, unknown paper store a chance - either by ordering from us, or buylisting to us - and we hope that every step of the way we met and exceeded your expectations.
